Priorities for Senate District 10

Economic Development

- Bring down costs for families in our district who are paying too much for everything from housing and healthcare to gas and eggs
- Promote Rural Entrepreneurialism, from wild flower farms to wineries, I want to provide startups with capital and innovation incentives that will help grow your small business

Best in the Nation Education

- I'll work to provide our public schools with the resources to retain talented teachers
- Modernize and build state of the art schools that prioritize both safety and accessibility
- Grow career and technical education programs through partnerships with employers, increasing certifications offered by the end of high school, and expanding offerings dictrict-wide

Protecting Your Rights

- I will vote this year and next year to enshrine Reproductive Rights in the Virginia State Constitution
- Keep your families and children safe from invasive technologies that infringe on your privacy

Infrastructure

- Roads across the district need to be in better condition for business and travel purposes
- Fix some major road problems like the "killer curve" on Rt. 522
- Make sure the funding is there to complete fiber optic cable installation to every home in SD-10
- Improve access to services in rural areas, particularly EMS and medical

Public Safety

- Expand gun violence prevention measures for firearms like an assault weapons ban, universal interstate background checks, and allow family members and law enforcement officials to temporarily keep firearms out of the hands of those who may be an immediate danger to themselves and others
- Advocate for policies that embrace cutting-edge technology in detecting illegal drugs, reduce safe havens for violent criminals, and improve coordination between federal, state, and local law enforcement

Rural Preservation

- Protect our natural resources with controlled growth, managing our timber responsibly, and taking care of natural areas for hunting and fishing
- Help increase new growth of family farms where farmers can have the autonomy to make decisions that are best for them

Balancing Energy Needs

- Utilize multiple energy sources to help meet the standards of the Virginia Clean Economy Act
- Allow collaboration between local officials and state government on renewable energy projects without taking decision

Good Governance

- Reform our campaign finance laws to get unlimited contributions out of state politics
- Ban contributions from utility monopolies like Dominion and Appalachian Power
- Let's have a true independent redistricting commission to draw new lines every ten years

Community Engagement

- I want to be personally accessible with an in district office and hold regular public meetings
- Invite regular conversations with constituents in Richmond and through town halls or information sessions
